NAIC SAPWG Accounting Update Matrix, Summer 2023 and Interim Meeting

JLK Rosenberger regularly attends the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) meetings and was recently present at the Summer 2023 and interim SAPWG meetings.  To the left, you will find a recap of items brought before the Statutory Accounting Principles Working Group (SAPWG) during the summer meeting and exposures and adoptions from the ensuing interim SAPWG decision meetings following the Summer national session.

In addition to the standard update matrix provided by the NAIC, Sona Sefcikova and I included commentary on each item and have categorized the various categories by color code into high, moderate, and low priority based on the potential impact on insurers.  Highly narrow topic items, as far as impact, are generally categorized as low priority.

The next meeting is scheduled for November 30 through December 4 in Orlando.  Look for a newly updated matrix update shortly after the meeting.
