The JLK Rosenberger Goal Digger

Minimizing the drawn-out, painful audit process has made Ani a client favorite. She has a knack for sniffing out issues, especially on engagements, partly due to her experience and heightened intuition (some call it a gut feeling).

Ani is a recipient of the Glendale Education Foundation’s Hope Diamond Award, given to an individual who has made significant achievements early in their career. She was a finalist for CalCPA’s Women to Watch awards and was recognized as a Rising Star by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal’s Women’s Council.

Areas of Expertise

Ani has over 15 years of public accounting experience, including audits of insurance entities’ financial statements prepared on statutory and generally accepted accounting principles bases. Her audit clients consist primarily of privately-held personal lines carriers writing homeowners and private passenger auto physical damage and liability. She also managed the audit of an SEC registrant insurer writing commercial multiple peril and commercial automobile risks. In addition, she audits employee benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations.

Ani launched and champions JLK Rosenberger’s women’s initiative program known as WomenLead. This program provides a platform for women at the firm to collaborate and participate in various projects and events within the firm and with women leaders in our community. Ani also leads the firm’s on-campus professional recruiting program and JLK Rosenberger’s Audit 500, a three-day workshop exposing university accounting students to public accounting through a mock audit simulation.

Futbal or football
“Futbal. It’s the only sport I enjoy watching, especially as a family. It reminds me of my childhood, watching the World Cup with my father. Although, I do like watching the halftime football show if that counts.”

Chocolate or vanilla
“Vanilla especially topped with an espresso (Affogato).”

Advice for aspiring CPAs
“Soon after graduating, make passing the exam your priority. Eat, breathe, and sleep the exams until you have completed them. Practice, practice, practice exam questions, BUT try not to overthink the questions, or you will confuse yourself.”

Your superpower
“I’m a mom. What’s your superpower?”

Heroes
“My parents. I admire their bravery in leaving behind their family at a young age, with two little girls, and moving to a foreign country, the US, to provide them better opportunities in life.”

Least favorite word
“Can’t. First I cringe, then anger takes over me before I start challenging the person as to why “I can’t…” or “He/she can’t.”
