Supporting her clients as they turn their dreams into reality by innovating and thriving in competitive markets is at the heart of Kerrie's career.

Kerrie Howes, J.D.

Research and Development Practice Leader

Kerrie’s mission is empowering companies to grow, innovate, and invest in their people through research and development tax strategies. Kerrie believes that understanding a client’s “why” is essential to building an R&D tax plan that aligns with the company’s operations, goals, and long-term growth. Her approach helps clients reduce tax burdens, improve cash flow, and create opportunities to reinvest in their teams and innovation efforts.

Areas of Expertise

With more than a decade of experience calculating R&D tax credits and deductions available under Section 174, Kerrie works with businesses of all entity types and sizes across a wide range of industries, including construction, architecture and engineering, biotech, manufacturing, contractors, technology, and more. She believes in proactivity and integrates legislative changes into practice in real-time. She does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and works with her clients to tailor each R&D analysis based on the specific industry and business operations, including how information is tracked and documented through systems, the best approach to quantify eligible research expenditures, and the support needed to claim the credit. She also ensures that her clients have all the facts so that they have a clear picture of what their true benefit is based on their tax position and after taxes and fees.
