Maria’s reputation of taking the bull by the horns is well-deserved. Immigrating from Russia alone, she was initially interested in becoming an English translator, but accounting stole her heart in college. Her ascent in public accounting has been swift. Within one year at JLK Rosenberger, she was running large audit engagements and within two years, she was appointed the president of the Southern California Chapter of Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA) where she served successfully for two years. She has also served on the board of CalCPA’s Los Angeles Chapter.
